I really don't know what happened to my sweet little German Shepherd, Razor. One moment he was fine, sniffing around in the grass and the next he'd snarfed something down his gullet and - knowing him - there was no way of retrieving it.

I panicked, not knowing what it was! It could've been anything - poison or rotten meat or even a dead animal.

As much as I tried to figure out what he'd swallowed, I couldn't.

I watched him like a hawk for several hours after, but saw nothing out of the ordinary.

Nothing out of the ordinary - until the next day.

The next morning, I was filling up his food bowl with the standard, bland kibble, when suddenly a "voice" popped into my head.

"No kibble! Only meat!" The voice said.

I stopped mid-pour, whirled around and no one was there! I could've swore I heard a voice.

Eh, must be losing it, I shrugged and went back to pouring the food.

That's when Razor insistently placed his large, black and tan paw over the bowl and I heard the same voice as before - this time it was louder and more dominant. Almost like someone was growling in my head.

I was stunned! Had Razor actually spoke? Why was he so insistent and growly?

"Razor, you naughty boy! This is your kibble. We do not feed animals Human food."

"I'm not asking, Karen!" He growled even deeper.

I was about to argue with him, but then felt my head get light. I tried to disobey his request, but I found that I couldn't. As if someone were pulling my marionette strings, I found myself reaching in the fridge and pulling out the ground beef I was going to have this evening - then placing it in his bowl.

"Very well, Karen. You've been a good girl."

"Thank you, master!" I groveled.

"You are dismissed. I will call for you when the need arises." He waved his paw in my direction.

I was shocked! And shook! Had I just been dismissed by my own dog? I wanted to read the paper, but he was VERY insistent that I leave him alone.

And why HAD I fed him that meat? That was my dinner!

What in the hell was going on here?
