It was the most awesome - yet absurd - thing that had ever happened to me. I was walking down a dark alleyway in the middle of the night, just kicking cans and contemplating my life, when out of the shadows stepped a grungy-looking hobo.
Something inside me told me not to be afraid of him.
What he offered me - in exchange for the cash I had - changed my life.
He sold me a genie's lamp.

It was the most awesome - yet absurd - thing that had ever happened to me. I was walking down a dark alleyway in the middle of the night, just kicking cans and contemplating my life, when out of the shadows stepped a grungy-looking hobo.
But he wasn't a hobo. Something inside me told me not to be afraid of him.
What he offered me - in exchange for the cash I had in my wallet - changed my life.
He sold me a genie's lamp.
At first I was certain that it was just a begger's ploy to get money from me. That was fine, I'd help the poor bum out.
He told me to wait until I was completely alone before rubbing the lamp and to make sure I knew exactly what I wanted before using up the last wish from the genie.
Okay, old man. Sure. There's a real genie in this antique lamp. Probably wasn't even antique - just some old junk.
Stuffing it in my backpack, I set my sights back home.
READ MORESetting the lamp on my nightstand, I pretty much completely forgot about it for a few days. But then I had a strange dream. One in which an actual genie appeared before me - but it wasn't a male - it was a female. And she promised me untold pleasures if I just rubbed the lamp and let her out.
I tried to frantically rub the lamp in my dream, but I just...couldn't. It was ethereal and she kissed me shyly on the lips before being sucked back into her prison.
I awoke suddenly in a cold sweat, my heart pounding and my hand shaking.
What was in my hands? The lamp! But it wasn't cold. It was burning hot.
I laid there in fear for several, long minutes.
What just happened? Was that really a dream? Or had something else happened?
I looked at the lamp in my shaky hands. What had the old hobo told me? To think about what I really wanted?
For several moments, my mind was blank - nothing came. Of course there was the usual - riches, women, cars, etc. But none of that really appealed to me. I had everything I wanted.
Except Stacy.
