It all happened so suddenly, I'm still not sure it was even real.

My girlfriend and I had it all figured out. At her insistence, we flew down to Mexico, stayed in a quaint little romantic hotel and arranged our little wedding.

But apparently, it was all a ruse and she was just using me to meet up with her lover.

Leaving me and her dog all alone…

It was supposed to be the happiest day of my life. Getting married was something I had always looked forward to. And now…now all my dreams had been dashed and shattered.

But all was not lost.

I still had her dog, Jasmine.

To be honest, my girlfriend had been a bit of a bitch, but her dog – her very beautiful German Shepherd – was a big ol' softy.

Over the months, the two of us – Jasmine and I – had grown a very close bond. Close enough that I don't believe she was really attached to my girlfriend anymore. And she acted as if she didn't really care about her – so it was a win-win for me and Jasmine.

So, when the bitch – the human one – stood me up at the altar, with all these random weirdos watching, my mind immediately said the show must go on.

I could tell the priest was getting antsy. We'd already been there an hour and it was clear from her text that she wasn't coming.

Jokingly, I said to the crowd:

"Hey, we paid for this wedding venue, why not let Jasmine step in for her?"

It was just a joke. Right? But most – if not all – the weirdos there were all for it.
